Instructions

Step 1 : Preparation

Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).

Step 2 : Cooking the Meat Sauce

In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add onion and garlic, and cook until softened. Add ground beef and cook until browned. Drain excess fat. Stir in salt, black pepper, crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, dried basil, dried oregano, and dried parsley. Simmer for 15 minutes.

Step 3 : Preparing the Cheese Mixture

In a mixing bowl, combine ricotta cheese, beaten egg, and grated Parmesan cheese.

Step 4 : Layering the Lasagna

Spread a thin layer of meat sauce in the bottom of a baking dish. Arrange a layer of lasagna noodles on top. Spread a layer of the cheese mixture over the noodles. Repeat the layers until all ingredients are used, ending with a layer of meat sauce on top. Sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese over the meat sauce.

Step 5 : Baking

Cover the baking dish with foil and bake for 30 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
