Instructions
Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add chopped onion and minced garlic, and cook until onion is translucent. Add cooked and shredded chicken breast, tomato sauce, Italian seasoning, salt, and black pepper. Stir well and simmer for 10 minutes.
In a mixing bowl, combine ricotta cheese, grated Parmesan cheese, and chopped fresh basil leaves. Mix well.
Spread a thin layer of the chicken mixture in the bottom of a baking dish. Place a layer of lasagna noodles on top. Spread a layer of the cheese mixture over the noodles. Repeat the layers until all ingredients are used, ending with a layer of cheese mixture on top.
Cover the baking dish with foil and bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes. Remove the foil and sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese on top. Bake for an additional 10 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
Let the lasagna cool for a few minutes before serving. Garnish with fresh basil leaves, if desired.
